What college student out there does not listen to music at some point throughout every day? A fair guess would be none. Music is the way that thoughts and feelings are expressed in an artistic way for some people. At some time most people have probably tried to pick up an instrument to try and express themselves. They relate to music. They relate to the artist. They want to convey their feelings in an artistic way.
For those that are unable to grasp the art of an instrument what is left? Enjoying the car radio and the endless streams of music found at their fingertips while stationed at a computer? Why not go out and listen live? Not only are there options to listen live on campus at the University of Michigan-Flint, there are also many live bands that play at bars and restaurants downtown.
Arcadia
Some are not local bands, but the members of the bands are locals and will come to do shows from time to time.
Thick As Thieves
Getting involved in local bands and supporting them is great for the community and allows for the chance to meet new people. Music is some thing that everyone uses to express their feelings or relates to in certain situations. The opportunities to get out and broaden your horizons in the musical sense are being put right in front of you.
Steve Means will be playing a live show hosted by CAB at the University of Michigan Flint's Theater tonight at 8pm. Admission is free, and all college students like that word.
